Worcester Drive
The fundamentals of this project is bason on the 'hiraeth' of the site with the post war bungalow having been built by our clients grandfather. Successfully gaining planning approval for a contempory first floor extension ontop of the original bungalow back in 2014, the structure was latterly deemed to require extensive underpinning due to subsidence which made the project unviable. Moving forwards a few years, a design for a replacement dwelling on the same site was approved and construction of the masonry and timber framed two storey dwelling began onsite in Spring 2022. Given the sea views at first floor level, it was an obvious choice to locate the primary reception spaces and master bedroom to the first floor and the bedrooms, utility functions and snug to the ground floor. Externally the walls comprise the utilitarian 'concrete common' bricks at ground floor level with spaced larch battens at the first floor level and on the underside of the roof and canopy soffits.
